Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG): A Domestic Alternative

The increase in production of North America’s natural gas has supplied lower prices, promoted job growth, and has bolstered America’s economy.

A Domestic Solution

Prometheus Energy is one of North America's largest and fastest growing suppliers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to industrial markets. No other energy source can match the ability of natural gas to deliver quick, reliable and clean energy thus driving the growth of the economy and creating new jobs. Tapping domestic resources means the elimination of price spikes and supply disruptions due to geopolitical events in unstable parts of the world.

Importing crude oil from these regions leaves us exposed to the whims of political events outside our control. The resulting price volatility can wreak havoc with fuel budgets, and in extreme case can even mean supply interruptions.

Natural gas is an abundant, domestically produced fuel you can count on today for your business' energy needs

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG): An Abundant Resource

An Abundant Solution

Natural gas is a versatile and fastest-growing major fuel.

Prometheus Energy helps energy consumers who are dependent on fuels derived from crude oil (like diesel and propane) run their business with LNG instead. Natural gas has been a vital U.S. energy resource for a century, but by the beginning of the 21st century, domestic gas drilling was not keeping pace with the growth in demand. Over the last decade, the combination of innovative drilling and well completion techniques have revolutionized the gas industry. According to the World Bank, three quadrillion cubic feet of natural gas is considered to be stranded across the globe. This untapped energy source is equivalent to the energy contained in over 20 trillion gallons of diesel fuel that could be made available to consumers.

Much of this growth will come from consumers shifting away from crude oil in order to reduce their fuel costs and CO2 emissions. The ability to produce natural gas has transformed the U.S. energy picture, turning an energy source once unable to be tapped economically into a plentiful domestic resource. Today, we have enough natural gas supply to last for several generations, with further advancements in technology offering the potential for even more. The abundant supply of natural gas is another reason why it is an important part of America's energy future.
